Title: An Overview of The Van Allen Probes Mission and its Importance for the Microelectronics Community

Abstract:
The Van Allen Probes mission launched in August 2012 is providing unprecedented insight into the states and extremes of the Earth's Van Allen radiation belts. We will briefly review the mission, focusing on new measurements of the trapped proton environment above 60 MeV and their implications for the microelectronics and spacecraft engineering communities.
